Golf Courses

Dothan is one of the stops on Alabama's famed Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, featuring 36 holes of world-class golf at Highland Oaks, the site of the 2000 Buy.com Tour Championships and the 1999 Nike Tour Championship, which was seen on televisions around the world on The Golf Channel and Fox Sports Network.

Recreation

dRegional parks offer athletic field and courts, picnic facilities, gazebos, and play areas for the entire family.

Seasonal water fun is always a thrill for all. The Water World theme park includes a giant wave pool, water slides, and kids-play pool.  There is also a miniature golf theme park with go-carts and bumper boats just waiting to be investigated.

The city is home to two skating rinks, two bowling centers, one public in-door pool, three cinemas, one drive-in theater, and racquetball/handball facilities.

The lure of catching "the big one" draws fishing aficionados to nearby lakes, rivers, and the Gulf of Mexico, only 80 miles to the south.  Outdoor adventurers will appreciate the hiking trails, boating, and canoeing that many area parks offer.  Hunting abounds in the region as well.
