Two acute-care hospitals with almost 3,500 trained professionals -- the 400-bed, regional referral center Southeast Alabama Medical Center and the 230-bed Flowers Hospital -- provide our community with the benefits of modern medicine. It is not necessary to travel long distances for open-heart surgery, cancer treatment, magnetic resonance imaging, or many other services that are offered locally.

The HEALTHSOUTH Rehabilitation Hospital offers 34-bed inpatient and outpatient acute rehabilitation services to treat brain injuries, spinal/cord injuries, orthopedic injuries, and neurological diagnosis. There are ten nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the area, including Westside Terrace, Wesley Manor, and the Terrace at Grove Park.
