The concerned,
well-educated, and dedicated hospitals, clinics, and private
practices provide our residents with the
best in progressive healthcare.
An established regional
center for quality medical services, Dothan
provides superb healthcare to residents of
Southeast Alabama, Southwest Georgia, and
Northwest Florida. Three fine hospitals, two
immediate-care clinics; mental health,
rehabilitation, and sensory-impaired
centers, numerous pharmacies and the
Military Assistance to Safety and Traffic
(MAST) program, which provides air
transportation for the critically ill or
injured, ensure our outstanding level of
healthcare.
Two acute-care hospitals
with almost 3,500 trained professionals --
the 400-bed, regional referral center
Southeast Alabama Medical Center and the
230-bed Flowers Hospital -- provide our
community with the benefits of modern
medicine. The use of highly sophisticated
technology and specialized equipment allows
local health professionals to provide almost
any medical service you may need. It is not
necessary to travel long distances for
open-heart surgery, cancer treatment,
magnetic resonance imaging, or many other
services that are offered locally.
The HEALTHSOUTH
Rehabilitation Hospital offers 34-bed
inpatient and outpatient acute
rehabilitation services to treat brain
injuries, spinal/cord injuries, orthopedic
injuries, and neurological diagnosis. These
facilities enable residents to receive a
continuum of healthcare without leaving the
area.
There are ten nursing
homes and assisted living facilities in the
area, including Westside Terrace, Wesley
Manor, and the Terrace at Grove Park.
Extendicare Health and Rehabilitation Center

Somerset, a state-of-the-art assisted living
residence.

System, which provides services for
substance abuse, mental retardation, mental
illness, and mental health.
